Silence!
Silence was the norm next day, news had spread like wild fire, it always does, gossip, and was not limited to group, but beyond. It burned all who came in its way, spared none. Hence, whenever too persons from the group, of opposite gender came to face each other, eyed each other with uneasiness, suspicion, of what the other thinks of him/her!
The fact that the two girls had admitted of their love too Monk and Hera, was totally ignored. Hera never mentioned it to none, as he was not supposed to know anything, Vee kept her silence and so did Duds, except for the Taklya bashing, when given a chance. A girl and a guy never wanted to be left alone with each other, and searched some reason, whatever it may be, to undo the situation.
Hera was not affected at all, he was being himself, had left out the fact that Vee loved Monk, and Duds loved him, hence had to act as if nothing had happened, but then it was easy, given that he lived in his own world, where nothing changed unless he had brought it about, or he felt it.
Things did cool down after two to three days. And the whole group was together, and were approaching the situation from the head. Taklya was asked to go home for some time, so as to get girls perspective clear for all. Hera was wondering
"Why are we even discussing on topic? After all proposing two girls who are best friends of each other, same night is so dumb and all together Stupid on so many levels!"
Hera was left aghast, Monk tongue tied and Vee and Duds dumb founded, but not for long when they found that Taklya had supporters, and chief argument was
"Why do girls want to be only friends, why cannot they become girl friends?"
And then Duds broke the silence,
"Cause we too have a choice"
And Vee added,
"And we know, right now, they do not feel same way about us. But by the way, how did you all come to know what happened that night, I did not tell you, neither did Duds, Hera knew only about me, and Taklya would not be dumb enough! And still you do not seem to know everything that happened, then how did you come to know, if you knew everything, you would not have raised this Question."
Monk looked at Hera, and Hera gave a small jerk to his neck, that meant it’s not good for us. And at that very moment everyone else looked at Monk.
Monk was forced in to giving an explanation,
"Well my source did tell me about what had happened that night, I left out the fact that, the girls do like someone else, other than Taklya, and that's the lone reason why they did not accept his proposal, but it hardly matters, knowing the name, cause I know that those boys love someone else."
But seeds of suspicion and heartbreak sow long time back had already grown and broke open into open. Group was not going to be same any more, at least Taklya was not going to be there. By the time Hera and other Guys reached room, to talk to Taklya, Taklya had already left for his town and was not picking up anyone's call.
Hera's fears were coming true, group was on a collapsing course, and petals of flower called friendship were wilting. And nothing could be done.
