Hera has a fight!
Next morning hell broke loose. It was Crack, who started the ruckus. Hera had never known why Crack had been over friendly towards him, but for the same reason had maintained a safe distance from him, while being his roommate, they were only roommates and nothing more as far as Hera was concerned.
Now Hera wished the Status Qua had remained, but Hera's cousin sister had returned to Pune for her backlog paper and she was the sole reason Crack had pulled all sorts of strings to get same college as her, albeit one year junior to her. Took admission in a far-flung area, copied all the answers and managed decent 80% to get into this prestigious college. Now she should accept him.
Lia was not sort of girl who would choose Crack, she had nothing in common with him. She is modern, none would doubt her to be not born and brought up in this city, while Crack was one of a kind fool from village, who considered bruit force can solve any problem and where force could not be used money can clear the path.
In city, Lia already had friends and a boyfriend Andy too, all from a class apart, more powerful in but never made any kind of show, Crack never knew what he was getting into. Crack started pressurizing Hera so as to introduce her to him, again in new light, as an improved being. Hera on other hand wanted to live his own life and that meant nothing to do with Lia, Crack or Andy.
Crack did not stop, and today Hera's patience gave in and next thing his fist flew right on to Crack's right Eye, giving him a black eye within seconds but Crack was Crack and he pulled out an aluminium road from the clothe hanger and started swinging it wildly, hitting Hera on his back. Hera managed to get away, but not without bruises.
Next thing Hera could not imagine what was happening, he was having meeting with an Inspector of duty, so as to teach Crack a lesson, which Hera declined, politely. The college big shot was next on the list who wanted to get in on the action, only thing Hera had to do was finance a small party and say yes to kick the hell out of Crack, even they could have made it look like a bad accident, but Hera still declined.
Next morning Hera and Crack were called into dean's office where they had to apologize and give in written that this will never happen again. This outraged Hera but he remained calm, because he was just drawn into a conflict that was never his. And when he met Andy and Lia that evening he said somehow Crack should just go away, and at end of that semester, Hera saw last of Crack, Crack never cleared a single exam after that.
Once Hera returned from dean's office, there was a surprise waiting for him in class, his class mates looked at him in awe, he was being given Hero's welcome, everyone recognized him, but all Hera wanted was to forget everything and live on his own life, life with Monsoon. And somehow she did not know anything that evening, and Hera did not tell her too. He was back to studies, friends and Monsoon. Today Hera and Monk decided to study late night again, for nothing good was coming off from being at room!
